Delete Your Account

We're sorry to see you go. This page explains how to permanently delete your YilaCare account and what happens to your data.

Option 1 — Delete from the App (Recommended)

  1. Open the YilaCare app
  2. Tap the profile avatar (top-right of the home screen)
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap "Delete my account"
  4. Read the warning and tap Continue
  5. Type DELETE to confirm, then tap Delete forever

Your account is deleted immediately. You will be signed out from all devices.

Option 2 — Email Request

If you can't access the app, send an email to support@yilamed.com with the following:

  • Subject: Delete My Account
  • The phone number or email you used to register
  • Your full name as it appears on the account

We will verify your identity and process the deletion within 30 days, in line with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).

What Gets Deleted

The following information is permanently removed or anonymized when you delete your account:

  • Your name, date of birth, gender, nationality
  • Your phone number, email address, and ID number (NRIC/FIN/Passport)
  • Your profile photo and saved addresses
  • Emergency contact details
  • Family member relationships linked to your account
  • Saved clinics, favorites, and preferences
  • Notification settings and devices
  • All future appointments and queue numbers (cancelled automatically)
  • All login sessions on every device

Data Retained for Legal Reasons

Some data is retained without identifying you, in order to comply with Singapore Ministry of Health (MOH) record-keeping requirements:

  • Medical records, prescriptions, and medical certificates issued by clinics — retained for at least 6 years as required by MOH (longer for paediatric records)
  • Completed consultation records — retained for medical-legal purposes
  • Payment and billing records — retained for 5 years for accounting and tax compliance
  • Anonymized analytics events — retained indefinitely

Once your account is deleted, none of this data is linked to a name, phone number, or any other identifier we hold.

How Long Does Deletion Take?

  • In-app deletion:Immediate — your account is locked the moment you tap "Delete forever"
  • Email request: Up to 30 days from the day we verify your identity

Can I Recover My Account?

No. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you change your mind, you will need to register a new account, which will start with no history.

Re-registering with the Same Phone Number

After deletion, your previous phone number, email, and ID number become available for re-registration. The new account will be a fresh account with no link to the deleted one.

⚠ Active appointments

If you have ongoing telemedicine consultations, scheduled video calls, or paid appointments, please complete or cancel them before deleting your account, or contact support@yilamed.com for refund inquiries.
